undertourism.eu is researched, written and built by one person: Robert Ranzi, at a desk in northern Italy. There is no content team and no office — just a train timetable, a spreadsheet of quiet places, and the conviction that most of Europe is still waiting to be visited.

The premise is simple. Europe doesn't have too many tourists — it has too few destinations. A handful of cities absorb most of the continent's visitors while the rest stays quiet. This platform covers that other Europe: reachable overland where possible, described honestly, with a density score instead of a hype scale.

Every destination page names its editor and its sources, and facts are checked against primary sources — where something can't be verified, it is flagged or left out. Some links on the site are affiliate links and are disclosed where they appear; they never decide what gets covered. The full rules are in the editorial standards.
